We have a chemical product epidemic with overwhelming consumer use which is raising the rates of illness in kids and adults in the United States. Consumers drive manufacturuers to make products with bells and whistles: scent, drying power, sparkle and sheen, etc. . It's time for consumers to get educated and create the drive, the demand for safer chemicals in the products we use.
The top three out of twenty five areas of chemical exposures in adults and children, according to the American Association of Poison Control Centers 2007 annual report, are:
- cosmetics and personal products
- household cleaning products
- analgesics
