2. READ, read, read. Become aquainted with the information and terminology.
Great resource website: The Green Guide
3. Learn to read the labels on cleaning products you buy. See my blog about Chemical Lingo
4. Change your cleaning products to non-toxic ones, Get Clean line is a good choice
5. Open windows in your home daily to improve in-home air quality
6.Think and do -recycled. Shop at Let's Go Green for recycled garbage bags, paper goods and more.

How to GO GREEN at Home!

1. Take a deep breath! One step at a time.

2. Start in your kitchen. Look around and see what beginning steps you can take:
* Garbage bags: Start buying garbage bags that are GOOD for the landfills and break down
* Use dishes. Not plastic plates etc.
* Replace paper goods with recycled ones.
* Use glassware, not plastic cups
* Use cloth napkins and dish towels (reduse the use of paper towels)
* Ask yourself, do I really need to use BOTH paper towels AND paper napkins? Can one do more "jobs" than the other? If so keep that one.

3. Change your cleaning products to non-toxic ones - this is VERY important not just because
of being green minded, but because it's a SMART move for your
health.

4. Replace plastic containers with glass storage ones. This may seem like a pain, but here's the scoop. For years we have been microwaving our food, storing our food in plastics than not only contain toxins that leach into our food, but by adding heat, we actually cause chemical reactions that morph into toxic chemicals which we absorb.

5. Use plastics, 2,4,5, - stay alive. Stay away from the rest. These do not leach chemicals into the bottle contents (Bisphenol A-BPA)
